Hail again… but nothing serious

It’s getting to be a habit, every few days in the summer there’s a hailstorm. The last two years were really catastrophic, fortunately much less so this time.

One-centimeter marbles of ice, but it only lasted 5 minutes.
Kiwifruit (Actinidia Chinensis) suffered a little.
But the fruits are still there.
Right next door, the table grape vine looks untouched. The biggest threat to these grapes is dormice.
The goumis (Elaeagnus multiflora) also held out, but the branches bent even more.
The guava trees (Acca sellowiana) didn’t even flinch.
After two years of lost harvests, we put the nets on the vines.
The protection worked. Let’s hope it also works for birds and wasps, the other plagues as soon as the grapes ripen.
Citrus trees were also protected. The yuzus were safe, but not the Karna lemon trees.
Almost no damage, just a few leaves with holes.
And the netting on the vegetable garden has done its job.
We can continue picking vegetables.
A little every day…
… as long as heaven spares us.
