New varieties 2025

April is approaching, with the start of the citrus planting season.
This year, we’ve added a few new varieties, some of which are a little less cold-hardy than usual, so can be grown in pots or greenhouses in Switzerland.

Bergamo Fantastico, resistant to -6°C.
Very hardy for a Bergamotier, but a little too hardy for Switzerland: keep in pots and overwinter in a sheltered spot.

Fantastico is the most widely cultivated Calabrian variety, for its acidic, floral juice but above all for the exceptional essential oils in the zest, used in perfumery since the 18th century.
Wherever it grows, Combava has found its place in local cuisine, from Indonesia to the West Indies and Mauritius. The lumpy rind and pulp have a rich, intense lemongrass fragrance.

Combava is resistant to -5°C and can be grown in pots under winter cover.
Clemenules, the most cold-resistant of the clementine trees (-10°C: night frost with daytime thaw).

An easy-to-peel, very sweet clementine for harvesting in December.

The tree is thornless and can be pruned compactly for pot cultivation.
Sicily’s Moro orange is one of the reddest of the sanguines. When ripe, its juice is so dark it resembles wine.

Resistant to -9°C and harvested in January, it can be found in Ticino on the terraces of Lake Maggiore.

These varieties will be available for sale online in a few weeks’ time.
