Description

A semi-wild species identified in 1976 in the Yunan mountains of southern China, the Honghe Papeda is considered in danger of extinction.
It grows at an altitude of 1,700 to 2,000 meters and can reach a height of 10 meters. It is a cousin of the grapefruit (Citrus Maxima) and the Ichang Papeda.
Its large fruit (600gr) has giant vesicles, up to 1cm, which make it juicy and melt-in-the-mouth, with aromatic acidity.
The zest is also very fragrant, reminiscent of its genetic neighbors Ichang Lemon and Yuzu.

The tree is very vigorous and productive. It grows tall and wide and is cold-resistant.
Its leaves, which are used in traditional Chinese medicine, have particularly long petioles.
Everything about Honghe Papeda is superlative.
