Description

The Sicilian Moro orange has the reddest pulp of all the blood oranges.
When fully ripe in January or February, its juice is as dark as wine.
It has few seeds and its thin skin remains orange when ripe, sometimes just spotted with red.

The tree is vigorous and very productive, with average resistance to cold (-9°C).
Outdoor cultivation of Moro oranges should be reserved for areas with the best climatic conditions (Lake Maggiore, Lake Geneva) and micro-climatic conditions (terraces rather than valley bottoms).
Note that pronounced temperature variations between day and night increase pulp coloring.
