Description

The Cara-Cara orange tree is a spontaneous mutation of the Washington Navel orange tree, discovered in the orchard of the hacienda Caracara, Valencia province, Venezuela in 1976.
It quickly became a success in California, where it remains one of the favorite varieties.
The fruit is less acidic and sweeter than the Navelina with a subtle sweet grapefruit flavor.
It’s a beautiful orange (150gr +), with pink, juicy pulp at the beginning of the harvest, which then turns slightly red and is very aromatic.
The Cara-Cara orange can stay on branch until May, but only if the winter is mild.

The tree is very vigorous and productive, with some short thorns.
