Fruit set is the brief period during which the fruit forms. On the almond trees, as soon as the flowers are gone, while some petals are still hanging, the tiny almonds already cover the branches.

These small fruits are fragile, vulnerable to a cold snap in April.

But they are so numerous that we can hope for a good harvest in the fall.

Meanwhile, the chickens are having a dirt bath.

As soon as they find loose soil, they dig holes for themselves, potholes. Then they lie down in the dust, bristle, lift their wings and throw dirt underneath, scratching with their legs.
It is their remedy against the parasites which settle under the feathers, they can spend hours there.
