March 18, 2023.
The Satsuma Mandarin trees in the field are waking up.
The winter was quite cold for Ticino, and very dry. Several periods (3 to 4 days in a row) at -6/-7 degrees at night, plus three semi-temperate periods with very strong winds. Little snow or rain.
Mid-March the nights remain cold, below 5 degrees, during the day 15 to 16 degrees. All the Satsumas in the field are already waking up with tiny green shoots on all the trunks, and at the beginning of the branches. The trees that remained in pots are still sleeping!
