The Cara-Cara orange is a spontaneous mutation of the Washington Navel orange, discovered in the orchard of the Caracara hacienda, Valencia province, Venezuela, in 1976.
\nIt quickly became a success in California, where it remains one of the favorite varieties.
\nThe fruit is less acidic and sweeter than Navelina, with a subtle sweet grapefruit fragrance.
\nIt’s a beautiful orange (150gr +), with pink, juicy pulp at the beginning of harvest, which then becomes slightly red and very aromatic.
\nThe Cara-Cara orange can remain on the branch until May, but only if the winter is mild.<\/p>\n
The tree is very vigorous and productive, with some short thorns.<\/p>\n
